Salim Bachmid

I love insights, I love to understand human behavior, and most of all, I love stories. I could’ve been a professional surfer living in Bali, but a career in advertising sounded more interesting to me, and after more than 13 years of experience, I think I made the right decision. Here’s some quick things about me and my work.


1. I’ve had 12 years of experience in advertising agencies (Junior Copywriter to Creative Group Head) and created campaigns for various brands, from hair colorant to Portland cement. I have produced work for P&G, Godrej, Kapal Api, Indocement, etc. One of the campaigns I love the most is Kapal Api’s Secangkir Semangat, back in 2011


2. I joined Bukalapak, one of the biggest e-commerce companies in Indonesia, in March 2018, leading a Creative team to develop campaigns to meet our marketing objectives


3. I took my very first (and still the only) selfie in 2019, with the David Droga

4. I enjoy learning about behavioural economics, which I think can bring huge impact on creative ideas

5. I grew up with Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, which somehow explains why I love smart, simple, plot twist ideas


6. I love selling brands, but I don’t think I’m good at selling myself
